HOW PDP KILLED MY HUSBAND, SAYS ALAMIEYESEIGHA’S WIFE. OCTOBER 24th , 2016

EniamanSaviour,  Yenagoa

YENAGOA It was a startling revelation, as Margaret, the widow of former governor of Bayelsa state, Late Chief D.S.P Alamieyeseigha, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of killing her husband. One year after the death of her husband, the widow has opened up tosubstantially clear the controversies surrounding his death. The widow in an exclusive interview with our Yenagoa correspondent recalled that it was the PDP that frustrated and sent her husband to his early grave and not the All Progressives Congress (APC) as widely speculated.

Explaining further, she said “I can categorically say today that it was the PDP that arrested my husband, seized all his properties and humiliated him to the point of his death. “It is PDP that killed my husband and not the APC. It was PDP that arrested my husband, it was PDP that humiliated my husband and killed him. At the end they seized everything that belonged to him. “It was the PDP that tormented my husband and he died as a result of the humiliation he suffered in the hands of the PDP. As far as am concerned, the humiliated me and took everything away from us.” Mrs. Alamieyeseigha described her husband as a man who wholeheartedly fought for the emancipation of the Ijaw people but that it is sad to note that the same people he fourth for that sold her husband out to the PDP that eventually killed him.

Recounting how her husband was protested against and humiliated before he was arrested, she called on the people of Ijaw ethnic nationality to shun acts that may cause them to betray their leaders. “When my husband took over the mantle of leadership, he saw how his people were suffering. As an intelligent man, he saw the need to fight for resource control as the way out for his people. “But at the end it is the same people that he fourth for that betrayed him. They sold him out to the PDP that eventually killed him. I want to advise the Ijaw people to stop betraying their leaders, so that they can move forward.”

Atiku And Tinubu Consider Formation Of New Party Ahead Of 2019:

Eniaman Saviour, Yenagoa

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar are reportedly considering floating a new party ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The report quoted a source as saying both Tinubu and Atiku are unhappy with the presidency but do not want to come out openly on it.
Tinubu’s anger with the Presidency started after the running mate to the party’s late governorship candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu, James Faleke, was subsequently replaced with the incumbent governor, Yahaya Bello.
Other issues according to the source include, leadership crises at the National level and the Ondo election that saw the emergence of former
President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, as the party’s candidate in the upcoming governorship election in the state.
Following the emergence of Akeredolu, Tinubu had demanded the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun
for allegedly overruling the party’s National Working Committee, NWC’s recommendation asking for the cancellation and conduct of a fresh primary poll in the state.
According to the source:  “Tinubu is having a serious realignment with Atiku on the possibility of pulling out
with their teeming supporters if President Muhammadu Buhari continues to look the other way.
“While Tinubu expected to win Kogi, Atiku wanted to be the chairman of the BoT, but the presidency frustrated their efforts.”

AMAECHI SHOULD RESIGN---RIVERS PDP

Eniaman Saviour, Yenagoa

Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the former Governor of Rivers State Rotimi Amaechi to resign his position as Minister of Transportation as he does not have any moral justification to remain in office as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, following what the party described as stunning revelations indicting him of attempt to bribe some Justices of the Supreme Court.
“Mr. Rotimi Amaechi is facing serious accusations by two Supreme Court Justices of being behind their travails, including the raiding of their residences, arrest, detention and carting away of various vital items and documents as well as blackmail by operatives of Department of State Security Services,” the PDP said in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
The PDP also recalled: “According to the Justices, Rotimi Amaechi had approached them, demanding that Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Abia and Ekiti states election petitions must be delivered in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC.)
“In his revelation earlier, Hon. Justice John Iyang Okoro, JSC, had stated that Mr. Amaechi told him that the President told him (Amaechi) to inform him that they (the APC) must win their election appeals in respect of Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Abia states at all costs and that if APC lost in Akwa Ibom State, where he (Amaechi) sponsored the candidate.
“On his part, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta stated that his refusal at various times, to help the APC to pervert justice in governorship election disputes involving Ekiti, Rivers and Ebonyi states was responsible for his ordeal. In a letter dated October 18, which he forwarded to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed and the National Judicial Council, specifically fingered the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, to have attempted to bribe him, and that after the Supreme Court affirmed the Election of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Amaechi also called him on phone and said ‘Oga is not happy’.”
Chairman, Rivers State chapter of the PDP, Bro Felix Obuah, called on the relevant authorities to immediately commence investigation into these allegations, while calling on Amaechi to first step aside from carrying out national assignments in his capacity as a member of the Federal Executive Council, to allow for an uninterrupted and objective investigation by the relevant government security and anti-graft agencies.
The PDP Chairman further called on President Muhammadu Buhari to also relieve Amaechi of his position, pending the determination of the matter by the relevant agencies.
“Bro. Obuah believes that, to further prove his innocence of the various allegations, Mr. Amaechi should resign, cooperate and allow the process of his investigation by not sabotaging any of such efforts in getting to the truth,” the statement read.
The PDP Chairman explained that “although the party was shocked at the extent Mr. Amaechi went about attempting to steal the mandate of Nigerian electorate, particularly in the mentioned states, but that those revelations have vindicated the PDP in Rivers State, as it has consistently complained about the corrupt and undemocratic dispositions of Mr. Rotimi Amaechi and some of his APC folks.
“We demand thorough investigation into these stunning revelations by these honouable Justices of the Supreme Court and call on the accused (Amaechi) to resign immediately, as he lacks the moral rectitude to remain in office as a public servant, Obuah insisted.”

Bayelsa APC And PDP At War Over Corrupt Judges

Eniaman Saviour, Yenagoa

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State has threatened to expose moves by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to influence Supreme Court judges handling this year’s governorship elections petitions.

The Bayelsa State of the APC made the threat in a statement issued by the state publicity secretary, Mr. Fortune Panebi.

The APC alleged that the PDP’s moves were to swing the petition in favour of its candidate, Governor Seriake Dickson, and vow to fight to the end to get justice for the people.

It cautioned that the syndicate involved in the transfer of funds meant for civil servants salaries used as bribe would be investigated and prosecuted, alleging that the pre and post-elections activities had shown how desperate the state government was in the quest for power.

The party claimed knowledge of PDP’s latest attempt to move high-powered delegations to Abuja to influence the Supreme Court judgment and accused the party of patronising and enriching corrupt Judges to the detriment of poor civil servants in the state, whose salaries were unpaid for several months.

In a reaction, the Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa, Cleopas Moses, described the allegation as outlandish.
Moses said the allegation was coming from a party which had yet to get its house together since the January 10, declaration of Governor Dickson as winner of the governorship polls.

According to him the APC is hallucinating over its desire to regain Bayelsa and asks it to go ahead and name those the PDP allegedly engaged as syndicate to transfer the said funds to the judges.

Moses, however, warned the APC to substantiate its claims of bribery with verifiable facts so that the world could believe. Moses said:

This is another smear campaign against our party, another lie from the pit of hell aimed at diverting attention from the original plan of our traducers.
But as always it will not sell because it lacks every attractive ingredient.”

Moses also reminded the APC that it had become famous with bribing judges, adding:

If their colleagues in Bayelsa are accusing us it shows desperation on their part to cover up something.”

According to him, the PDP believes in the judiciary and its members are convinced that they convincingly won the governorship elections in Bayelsa.

They do not need to bribe anyone to manipulate the judgment of the apex court.

The victory of the PDP at the lower court is enough reason to show that it will not change at the Supreme Court,” he said.

He described the attack on the personality of Obuebite as uncalled for. Describing Obuebite as a thorough-bred politician and seasoned commentator cum analyst, the Chairman further said attack on his personality was a diversionary tactic and desperation on APC’s part to cover up something.

He also advised members of the APC in the state to look for means of finding lasting solution to the crisis rocking their party.

PDP advises Amaechi to resign over allegation of corruption

By Eniaman Saviour, Yenagoa

The Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers state has said that recent reports by two Justices of the Supreme Court is an indictment on the former Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi.
Justice Okoro Inyang and Justice Sylvester Ngwuta both of the Supreme Court had fingered Amaechi in an alleged bribery and corruption scandal.
Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Samuel Wanosike said the party in the state has been justified about its argument that the former governor allegedly misappropriated state funds.
Wanosike further said there is a moral burden on President Mohammadu Buhari to prosecute all those mentioned in the statement of the two Supreme Court Justices.
He, however, called for the resignation of Amaechi as the Minister of Transportation, adding that his resignation will give room for proper investigation of the allegations.
“We of the PDP in Rivers state have been vindicated. We are not surprised because we knew Amaechi was stingingly corrupt. Under his watch over three points, something close to trillion was misused.
“President Mohammadu Buhari now the moral burden to let Nigerians know if he is truly fighting corruption.
“If the President knows he’s not shielding corrupt officials especially those who have embezzled fund meant for Rivers state.
“We as a party are asking Amaechi to resign so that he can be properly investigated. We are asking President Mohammadu Buhari to please do the needful for Nigerians,” Wanosike said.

Gowon to Niger Deltans: Forgive Buhari, Forgive Nigerian Government

Eniaman Saviour, Yenagoa

Yakubu Gowon has apologised to the Niger Delta people for the neglect they have endured in the hands of successive governments.

The Cable reports that the former military head of state made this apology at the premiere of ‘Oloibiri’ which is a movie about the Niger Delta

Gowon said the country was sorry for the way the region has been treated and urged all aggrieved persons to be ready to dialogue with the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.

“Watching through the movie, I cannot help but feel with the plight of Oloibori and all other oil-producing communities and their people in the land.

“I agree that the movie mirrors a clear manifestation of the collective negligence and failure of leadership in successive governments in our country.

“Looking back today, I must confess here that the people of Oloibiri have felt badly neglected and of course, they are hurt.

“We must, however, acknowledge as a nation and as a people that along the way, we have made mistakes. Clearly, Oloibiri community has not been treated fairly; they deserve or sympathy, consideration, and collective resolve to develop this once vibrant community.”

He called on the government to find a way to right the wrong it has committed.

“I move as a former head of state to offer the nation’s profound regrets and my personal apology to the good people of Oloibiri with the prayers to the present and future government at all levels in the land to work towards redressing the wrongs of the past to these people.

“I also request the people of Oloibiri to forgive the oversight and mistakes of the government and the corporate government of Nigeria.”

“I have great faith in our youth in the Delta region. The future is yours; if you keep it whole, you will be able to build a better country than we would leave to you today. It is up to you to love your country, defend it whether good or bad but try to make it right.

“In the Delta region, do not go on destroying all these facilities that you would need to develop. For God’s sake, stop doing that, because you are hurting yourself and you are hurting the nation as a whole.”

Bayelsa teenager killed by police for burial on Saturday

Eniaman Saviour, Yenagoa

The families of a Bayelsa State teenager, Master Innocent Kokorifa, allegedly killed by the police in Yenagoa, have concluded arrangements to bury the remains of the deceased.

The 17-year-old Innocent, first out of five children of Mr. Daniel Kokorifa, an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps, was shot dead in a mysterious circumstance by the police Anti-Vice/Anti-Kidnapping team along Airforce Road in Yenagoa, on August 18, 2016.

The deceased (Innocent), was said to be running an errand for his mother, Pere Kokorifa, when he was allegedly killed  by the police about 11am on the fateful day.

But the state police command had in a statement shortly after the incident, claimed that the victim died in a gun battle between a three-man notorious armed robbery gang and the police team.

Father of the victim, Daniel Kokorifa,  confirmed to our correspondent on Wednesday that Innocent’s remains would be buried in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, on Saturday (this week), since the autopsy had been carried out and cause of death known.

On the next step after the autopsy, Kokorifa said,  “The country we are in has procedures and we cannot take laws into our hands. We are going to meet at the court and justice will prevail.

“I believe in the judiciary. They will do their job. There are cases they have handled and people have been sentenced to death and given penalties, so this one will not be an exception.”

It was learnt that the result of the autopsy carried out at the Federal Medical Centre,  Yenagoa,  indicated that the deceased actually died from the bullets fired by the police.

The autopsy was reportedly carried out by a pathologist at the FMC, Dr. E. P. Odoye, last Saturday.

However, the autopsy and the level of investigation so far,  have continued to generate reactions from human rights group and lawyers.

An activist and lawyer, Ebikebuna Aluzu, expressed satisfaction on the recent attitude of the police by ensuring that a successful autopsy was carried out.

Aluzu, the prime mover of the #JusticeForInnocent Movement, said the autopsy was part of the due process required to aid the investigative process.

Aluzu, however, frowned on the manner the police were treating other aspects of the investigation with regard to the perpetrators of the killing.

The activist said,  “Justice delayed is justice denied. But I believe that justice will prevail in this case.

“As an activist, who has been involved or passionate about human rights, I am not too comfortable with the way the police are going about their investigation. This is a case that involves more than one party.

“The police team that carried out the operation are all locked up in Zone 5 Division, Edo State. Following up the case, I have been to that Zone 5, and there’s something I noticed that the men of the Anti-Vice are put in one place. These people are parties to an offence and as a forensic expert, I am not too comfortable with that situation.

“You don’t put people who are parties to an offence together. They will have the opportunity to collaborate and corroborate their stories. There is need to separate them, even in prison.”

In the same vein, a human rights activist,  Ebiserikumo Gbassa, alleged that the excesses of the Police in the state were getting out of hand.

He also frowned on the nonchallance of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area (Kokorifas’ LGA) and the Bayelsa State Government on the matter, alleging that their lack of interest was because the matter involved the poor.

Gbassa mentioned how Governor Seriake Dickson went to Abuja to commiserate with the family of the state Chief Judge, Mrs. Kate Abiri, when her son was allegedly murdered, because the Abiris were rich.

He added that he would ensure that he implicated all the tiers of Bayelsa government in the case for not showing concerns when they needed to do so.

President Buhari set to divorce Aisha Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife has taken their fight to the streets.

The love birds had disagreed on a number of issues.

Firstly, President Buhari rejected governor Yari’s request to marry Zahra Buhari.

Aisha reportedly backs Yari’s proposal.

Secondly, Aisha Buhari openly lampooned her husband’s handling of the economy. The president reportedly cautioned his wife in private.

The third and most recent incident happened three days ago. Aisha Buhari traveled solo to UK and granted BBC an interview.

This news house had published tidbits of that interview.

The Federal Government mounted pressure on BBC not to air that interview.

That interview is why President Buhari wants out of the relationship with Aisha.

Before we get there, listen to how Aisha openly berated and warned her husband for the third time.

“Some people are sitting down in their homes folding their arms only for them to be called to come and head an agency or a ministerial position.”

When BBC’s correspondents asked her to name those who had hijacked the government, she said, “You will know them if you watch television.

“Again, he is yet to tell me of his 2019 ambitions.

“I have decided as his wife, that if things continue like this, I will not go out and campaign for him in 2019.

“I will not ask any woman to vote like I did before.

“I will never do it again. He has surrounded himself with people he does not know. He barely knows 5% of those working for him.

“I am tired. We are tired. Nigerians are tired,” Aisha Buhari said.

A source within Aso Villa told us that Aisha’s latest outburst against the President broke the camel’s back.

The source said “According to Islamic marriage guidelines, a wife ought not to berate or warn her husband in public.”

This is why the president may be calling it quits. Will he change his mind? Will his friends broker a truce? Time will tell.

DSS lies, blackmail will not lessen their crime against Judiciary – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has berated the Department of State Services (DSS ) for resorting to deliberate misinformation and concocted stories to justify their unconstitutional assault on the nation’s judiciary.

The governor stressed that the DSS lacks the constitutional powers to be involved in the legal process to discipline a serving judicial official, pointing out that there is a legal process that must be followed.
Addressing the people of Rivers State on Saturday night during a special dinner for the management and players of Rivers United at the Government House, Port Harcourt, Governor Wike said the weak blackmail of the DSS will not lessen the crime they have committed against the Nigerian State by assaulting the judiciary.
He noted that nobody is deceived by the concocted figures being circulated by the DSS.

He said: “Their blackmail stories will not move me. They will concoct all kinds of stories to justify this undemocratic illegality perpetrated against the judiciary.
“It is really unfortunate that DSS would concoct a false defence that $2million USD , (that is N900million) was found in the house of the judge. It is unfortunate that the DSS is coming up with flimsy excuses. ”

It will be recalled that the governor and the DSS Operatives had their encounter outside the gate of the residence. It is therefore ridiculous that the DSS remained outside to decare thar N900million was found in the residence.
The governor noted that while he does not condone corruption , he will never support any process that is targeted at ruining the nation’s judiciary.
He stated that the National Judicial Council has the responsibility to discipline erring and corrupt judges, after which indicted judicial officers are handed over to the relevant law enforcement agency for prosecution.

The governor said that the Police, Army and other para-military agencies have their respective processes for the discipline of erring and corrupt officers.
“In the police, erring and corrupt policemen are first given orderly room trial, sacked and then appropriately prosecuted. For Judicial Officers, the DSS has no role”, he said.
Governor Wike added: “This impunity must stop.I am not in support of any judicial support being involved in corruption.

What we are saying is that the right things must be done. We must not do things that will jeopardise our hard earned democracy.
“If they had abducted the judge, they may go ahead to kill the judge and they will say that Rivers State is insecure.”
The governor added that he resorted to offering the explanation because of the propensity of the DSS and other agencies to use newspapers and the media to manipulate information.

He said: “The way things are going nobody should relax. Freedom comes with sacrifice. Independence comes with sacrifice. Liberty comes with sacrifice.
He said: “We must resist this injustice. Nobody can intimidate Rivers people. If you use to do that, not now. I am informing you before you will read whatever lies they wiĺl circulate in newspapers.”

The governor noted that contrary to false statement issued by the DSS he was with senior Rivers indigenes at the time of stopping the DSS unconstitutional act.
He said: “I was there with our State and National Assembly members, Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Austin Opara , the PDP Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah and some caretaker chairmen. When they said I was with thugs I just laughed.”

'As a husband & father, I'm offended by his words' Donald Trump's VP pick, Mike Pence releases statement

Presidency denies reports that GEJ's account has been frozen & they've stopped paying his allowances

The Presidency has denied claims by some youths in Bayelsa state that it has frozen the accounts of former President Goodluck Jonathan and stopped his allowances as a former President.

During a protest in the state yesterday, Youths in Bayelsa accused the present administration of victimizing the former president and his family using the EFCC and other related agencies. This claim has now been debunked by Shehu Garba. Read the statement below...

The allegation by demonstrators in Bayelsa State on Thursday that allowances due to a former President have been stopped and his bank accounts were frozen is patently untrue. We have confirmed with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) that the former President and the other past leaders were paid their allowances up to the second quarter. The past leaders have not been paid third quarter allowances but will get their dues when remittances are received by the SGF from the Ministry of Finance. Also, the story of account closure is false. It is not known to the investigation agencies. The National Security Adviser to the President is not aware of this bank account closure; the DG SSS is unaware of it, the EFCC is unaware and the IG of Police is not in the know. With all of these agencies not being involved, how then could a thing like that happen? In a dream perhaps! To put it starkly, we believe there is a clear motive for the demonstration that is different from that which was being canvassed. This is a premeditated attempt to blame President Muhammadu Buhari for something he knows nothing about. These claims are false and poorly sourced to present a picture of vendetta; and they should be disregarded by well-meaning members of the public. President Buhari remains committed to the ideals of justice and fairness to all irrespective of creed, religion and political leanings. His administration will not engage in vendetta.

Photo: EFCC arrest company MD over N4billion fraud

Following over a hundred petitions from across the country on the operations of an alleged Wonder bank and its nefarious activities, the EFCC on Thursday October 6, arrested the Managing Director of “Lets Partner With You Ltd”, Chief. Patrick Shanchi Nwokike at his residence in Enugu, Enugu state.

Petitions from a cross section of Nigerians and cutting across religious, gender, ethnic, economic and social class indicate that the company had over the past five years solicited and obtained deposits of more than N4,000,000,000 ( Four Billion Naira Only) from the general public with promise of mouth watering interest in return.

According to investigations conducted by the Commission, the company has no license to solicit and manage funds for the public nor was it registered with Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, or the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Company, NDIC.

Further investigations revealed that a 10% (Ten percent) interest was for some time paid on invested capital which for no justifiable reason, was suddenly stopped and all efforts by depositors to have at least the capital of their investments returned nor terminate their investments proved abortive.

Many of the complainants alleged that the operators of the scheme especially, Chief Nwokike not only live very flamboyant lifestyles but acquired several personal assets as well as using their deposits for philanthropic enterprise. The company was also found to have over six accounts in about four banks with the CEO of “Lets Partner With You Ltd” and his wife being the only signatories to the accounts.

In his statement, Nwokike who acknowledged that depositor’s funds with his company was about N4,000,000,000( Four Billion Naira Only) , denied operating both money lending and investment business as alleged by the petitioners.
He stated that his company is into partnership business which receives money from interested partners who desires interest from their money after it might have been infused into businesses especially that of small scale traders.

Nwokike argued that the present problem facing his company is as a result of the general economic downturn in the country; an argument punctured by his depositors who said his company started defaulting even before the present economic woes.
Investigation is still on-going to ascertain the extent of the company’s operations, its culpability, likely recovery of funds and possible prosecution.

Scottish photographer captures two West African migrants drowning in the Mediteranean during resue

Scottish photographer Mathieu Willcocks captioned these photos of two migrants from West Africa drowning in the Mediterranean being rescued by Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS). The migrants were among those rescued this week while attempting to cross the sea on a overcrowded rubber boat. Both were struggling in the water, one pushing the other under.

Their rubber boat had started to sink and many migrants ended up in the water. Fortunately, the MOAS rescue team was there in time to distribute life jackets and assist the migrants. These two guys panicked and struggled in the water for a very short moment before being pulled to the safety of a large flotation device nearby.

Read Femi Fani-Kayode's piece on President Buhari's new book

In this piece, FFK alleges that the book's author, professor John Parden is a praise singer who wrote a similar hagiography for Ahmadu Bello in 1986. He also makes some weighty allegations on the source of president Buhari's campaign funds. Read below...
Professor John Paden, President Muhammadu Buhari’s official biographer, is a man that is very comfortable with distorting the truth and telling lies. He is also a man that has been doing so for virtually all his adult life.
Anyone that doubts that should read his biography on the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, which was written in 1986 and titled “Ahmadu Bello, Saurdana of Sokoto: Values and Leadership In Nigeria”, and which is essentially a self-serving and comprehensive compilation of Bello’s numerous virtues with little or no mention of his many vices.

I read that book twenty years ago and I placed it in the “light entertainment” shelf in my library because it lacked gravitas or any real intellectual stamina.
It was, at best, a beautiful public relations job for Bello and, at worse, a compilation of disjointed verbiage fit only for the dustbin.

Paden’s book on Buhari falls into the same category. It is nothing but an illusion: an extraordinary and fantastic fairy-tale built on a shady foundation of pseudo-intellectual clap-trap and garbage.
To him, President Buhari is infallible. He is, at best, an angel of light and, at worst, a perfect mortal with no warts.

Paden’s latest contribution is the greatest exercise in dishonesty and historical revisionism that has ever been undertaken by any foreign or Nigerian historian since independence.
The only one that comes close to it in this respect is the book that he wrote on the Sardauna and a number of other books that he authored over the years which were primarily about core northern Nigeria. Writing rubbish seems to be Paden’s stock in trade.

In his latest book, amongst many other glaring and shameless mendacities, he indulged in two particular lies that are an eloquent testimony to his perfidy.
The first was that three names were sent to President Muhammadu Buhari for the position of Vice President, namely Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Yemi Osibanjo and Babatunde Raji Fashola in 2014 for the 2015 presidential election.

This is false and it is simply an attempt to demean and belittle Tinubu and the role that he played in the whole exercise.
The truth is that it was Tinubu and Tinubu alone that forwarded the only name that was given serious consideration for the Vice Presidential slot by President Buhari. That name was Professor Yemi Osibanjo.

Senator Olorunimbe Mamora was also considered by Buhari but he did not have the backing of Tinubu and neither did Tinubu forward his name.

The idea that Tinubu’s name was forwarded to be Vice President alongside that of his two protegees in the persons of Osinbajo and Fashola is nothing but fantasy and it was a beautiful and tasteful dish and tale that was spiced cooked up and prepared in the kitchens of Aso Rock.

Again Tinubu never pressured Buhari to make him his Vice President as Paden has asserted because he had decided to drop that ambition long before then simply because the idea of a Muslim/Muslim ticket, which was originally on the cards, had eventually been jettisoned and rejected by the party due to public presssure and the division and outrage it attracted.

If the Muslim/Muslim ticket had not been rejected Tinubu would have been the Vice Presidential candidate of the APC and no-one else, including his erstwhile protegee Babatunde Fashola, would have had a hope in hell of getting it.

This is especially so given the fact that Buhari had originally promised him that position at the time that their parties merged and the APC was established but he later reneged. That is the bitter truth.
Paden was either misinformed by those who commissioned him to write the book or he was being propelled by an ulterior and malevolent motive for writing the rubbish that he did on the Vice Presidential issue.

Whichever way he was completly wrong and for the sake of history and posterity we must set the record straight.

The second lie that he told, which was infinately more dangerous and repugnant than the first, was that President Buhari has documents which are signed by President Jonathan which prove that the latter sought for what he described as “extra-budgetary funds”.

This is a pernicious lie. It has no basis in rationality, reason or truth. There is absolutely no evidence to substantiate it and I challenge Paten or President Buhari himself to make those letters and signed applications for “extra budgetry funds” public.

The whole thing is simply an attempt to further tarnish and demonise Jonathan and all those that served under him before the world and I believe that that is a crying shame.

I can understand such lies coming from a Presidency or a Federal Government that is scared of its own shadows and that feeds off its own propaganda but I cannot accept them coming from a supposedly reputable historian, albeit a foreigner, who has become the official writer and cheerleader of all things caliphate over the last 30 years.

Amongst many other things he also suggested that other senior figures in the political and military configuration in our country committed serious crimes and indulged in damning acts of corruption without being specific or even providing details of those acts.

Instead of doing so he suggested that the individuals concerned, which included President Olusegun Obasanjo, would have been prosecuted, brought to justice and called to account for their allegedly dastardly acts whilst in government if not for the fact that this could have had implications for the stability of the nation and national security.

Obasanjo, who is always quick off the mark and who was actually present at the launching of the book in Abuja as was Tinubu, responded in a measured manner by saying that there were “some insinuations” in it which he disagreed with.

Frankly that was a cop out. Obasanjo was being far too polite and this was probably due to the fact that he had not read the whole book as ay that time and he did not want to dampen the enthusiasm of the biographer, upset the President or ruin the occasion.

The adage is that you do not go to someone’s dinner party and spoil it by confronting his lies, challenging his allegations and speaking the bitter truth.

Yet I believe that though Obasanjo touched on the matter he did not go far enough. I believe that it is incumbent upon all those that were maligned and alleged to have indulged in acts of corruption by Paden to set the record straight and state their case.

It would be very dangerous for all those that have been misrepresented in this so-called book, including President Goodluck Jonathan, President Olusegun Obasanjo and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to keep quiet and not clarify the issues about what was written or insinuated about them because many years from now that book will be used as a major source and reference point for our history.

I urge all those affected to write their own books quickly otherwise they will become victims of historical revisionism.
If I had been invited by President Muhamnadu Buhari or Professor Paden to the book launch I would have mounted the podium and said as much. Sadly I was not.
Permit me to end this contribution by making a suggestion to Paden. Since he wrote about Jonathan’s campaign funds and alleged all manner of corruption concerning their source and application, in his next book on President Buhari I would suggest that he sheds more light on how his subjects own 2015 presidential campaign funds were sourced.

For a start he should tell us who provided the 10 million USD that was paid as consultancy fees to the company of Mr. David Axelrod, President Barack Obama’s erstwhile campaign manager.
He should also tell us the source of funds and how Buhari and his team managed the 19 billion naira that was given to him in cash by the then sitting Governor of the leading and largest state in the south west and the 24.6 billion naira that was given to him in cash and in one day (which was recorded on video before being handed over) by another leading south western politician.

In addition to that he should tell us precisely how much the then Governors of Rivers and Kano states and the present Governors of Ogun and Kwara states amongst many others contributed to Buhari’s campaign and where they got the money from.

Since everyone is claiming to be holy and righteous in this matter let us all get there and publicly exchange notes. After all the Nigerian public, and indeed the entire world, has a right to know.
If Paden fails to ask those questions and declines to provide the answers then he, his accursed books and his questionable and dubious “white-washing” mission of President Muhammadu Buhari shall undoubtedly remain damned forever.
Whether he does so or not other governments that will come to power in the future in this country will not only get the necessary answers but they will also do the appropriate thing and bring them to justice. It is only a matter of time.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino suggests changing World cup from 32 teams to 48 teams

Gianni Infantino, president of the World Football's governing body, FIFA has suggested starting up a 48 team World Cup tournament, saying adding 16 more teams to the competition would see a playoff round added prior to the group stages of the world cup, with the 16 defeated nations going home after playing just one match.
According to Infantino, the proposal could take effect from the 2026 World Cup.
"The idea is that 16 teams would qualify directly to the group stage and the other 32 would play in a preliminary phase, in the country where the World Cup is being played," Infantino told reporters at an event in Bogota, Colombia on Tuesday.
"They would play for the remaining 16 places. It means we continue with a normal World Cup for 32 teams, but 48 teams go to the party."
One of Infantino's proposals while coming out for election  was to increase the number of teams competing in FIFA World Cups to 40 after Qatar 2022.
"These are ideas to find the best solution. We will debate them this month and we will decide everything by 2017," Infantino continued.
"They are ideas which we put forward to see which one is the best. FIFA's idea is to develop football in the whole world, and the World Cup is the biggest event there is," he said. "It's more than a competition, it's a social event."

Repost: Independence Day 1/10/2016 - by Daniel Macaulay

The average Bayelsan within the ages of 15-25 has no understanding of the word RECESSION, things are only tough because Gov Dickson refused to pay his parents salary.

The average Bayelsan can tell who's richer between Davido and wizkid but ask that individual who the Minister of Education is and it'll be considered torture.

The average Bayelsan still believes a "cloud" is just a mass made of tiny drops of water....and funny enough you'll see that individual with an IPhone and different tablets.

The average Bayelsan barely knows the senator representing his senatorial district, that's if by some miracle he even knows his senatorial district.

The average Bayelsan knows not the tools for budget analysis, but can in a matter of seconds analyze why the "Cap Carnival" was doper than the "Rep your " dab".....(Bite Me)

The average Bayelsan basically has no plans of becoming an entrepreneur, his aspirations are anchored on an Uncle gaining government appointment and extending the courtesy to him, or if he be lucky gaining such appointment by the recommendation of a high placed dad or an uncle. He has been self programmed to see bayelsa as a land of "Free money"... a land of milk and honey.

Yes the average Bayelsan concerns himself more with being swagged out, being dope, being referred to as the king of Facebook, slay queen, amayanabo of Instagram, Mene abolo 1 of Snapchat.... this sect will eventually grow up to see titles as a great achievement, Opu abadi 1, Agbaragbururu 1 and all that..

The average Bayelsan ofcourse can point out the difference between Olamide's rap pattern and Reminisce.... But cannot distinguish Chinue Achebe's writing style from Chimamanda Adichie.

The average Bayelsan Doesn't Know and Knows he Doesn't Know but Doesn't want to Know what he Doesn't Know that's the problem.

Now the fact that this sect is considered as the leaders of tomorrow( a tomorrow that was yesterday) should scare anyone. Basically they don't even see themselves as leaders, how then are they expected to lead.

They are still tryna figure out a way to think out of the box never for once stopping to realize that there is no box, the only box u see is the one you want.

This is not a diss( but if you consider it to be, you're welcome) I mean no disrespect, cause there are still Bayelsan youths out there keeping it real and making us proud

Slimkelz Reuben is making us do the bag it up and dump it dance

Idyl Daniel Diongoli got us teared up with his Ebiere track

Abused boy rescued in Akwa Ibom 4 years ago by Danish aid worker, starts High school, dreams of becoming a doctor

By Eniaman Saviour

Abused, tortured and abandoned, Nsikak's dream of becoming a doctor will one day become a reality. The young boy was rescued four years ago by Danish aid worker, Anja Ringgren Loven, founder of the Children's Aid Education and Development (ACAEDF) in Akwa Ibom.

The mother of one, who made headlines around the world after rescuing Hope, a little boy branded a witch and left to state to death, took to her Facebook today to share Nsikak's inspiring story:

"This Tuesday was a big milestone for one of our children, and I was crying like crazy like parents do when their children grow up and leave home
Nsikak, our little boy who is not so little anymore has started High School !!!

They grow up soooo...... fast

David Emmanuel, Nsidibe Orok, Asuquo Ita Asuquo and Don Udowan all took him to his new school and Nsikak was so excited !!

My concern: Will he eat enough ?, will he do his homework ?, will he use more time flirting with girls than reading his books ?, who will wash his clothes ?, will he get enough sleep ?, will he stay up to late ?, will he be okay ?!! Ohhhhh mothers, we are full of worries !!

But we are all so proud of this young man who has come so far from when we rescued him nearly 4 years ago. Abandoned and alone and tortured and today he is such a handsome young man with a great future ! And the school is not just any school. It´s a Science School because he wants to study medicine and to be admitted you need to pass a very difficult test, but Nsikak came out with a brilliant score and was admitted !!! Ohhh... That´s our boy !
🏽🇳🇬

Next month my mommy gene will be tested once again because then its Shedrach Esin's turn to go out into the adult world when he start the University of Calabar !! University !!!! Ohhh what a milestone ! Ooooohhhhh..... And Calabar

And Asuquo Ita Asuquo will also leave our home and start High School because he is also going to study medicine.

But our boys will come home during the weekends. Not every weekend but I cannot wait to be back in Nigeria and visit our big boys at their new schools

️ Mommy is so proud but also a little sad......

Photo: Two Nigerian men arrested for fraud in Delhi, India

Two Nigerian men were arrested on Friday, September 30th by a joint team of Delhi and Goa Police for cheating several people after befriending them on social networking sites.

The suspects identified as Chukwuma Collins, 35, and Nicodemus Obinn, 27, used to befriend people on Facebook and then ask for money to send "necessary items" to their family members in UK.

Police said that the two used to cook up stories about the poor conditions of their family members living in western countries and ask the victims to help them with money. After receiving the money they broke all contact with the victims.  Both have been involved in several cases of fraud and an FIR was registered against them in Goa cyber crime cell.

Bridget Fernandes Rai, a victim made a complaint to Goa Police, claiming to have been cheated of around Rs 8 lakh by the duo. She said that she had befriended Collins on Facebook and after a few days of chatting he started calling her.

Rai told the police that Collins started referring to her as his sister and asked for Rs 8 lakh to transfer some money and jewellery through a courier to his relatives. He claimed that the courier was stuck in legal processes at the customs department in Goa and he needed to get it delivered quickly as his wife had expired.

Rai agreed to transfer the money to his account. As soon as the money was transferred, Collins disappeared. After some time, Bridget received a call from the custom department, which raised questions regarding the parcel she had sent, and realised that she was duped.

"A team from Goa Police approached us in Delhi after a technical surveillance pointed to role of some people operating from here. A joint team was formed to track the accused. The duo was arrested from Mahavir Enclave in south Delhi," said Ravindra Yadav, joint commissioner, crime.

Collins and Obinn confessed to their crime and disclosed that they had cheated several others in a similar way. Three laptops, seven data cards, 36 SIM cards and 26 mobile phones, three USB pen drives, were recovered from the duo.

During interrogation, the duo claimed that they had arrived in India five years ago for business and then started cheating people using different techniques. Both accused were produced in a Dwarka court and taken on a transit remand by Goa Police.
